Our Team

John Lee

CEO, Co-founder
John Lee has over 35 years of experience in leading multiple companies worldwide. He founded AQS Inc., a contract manufacturing solutions company in the heart of Silicon Valley that has expanded to locations in China and South Korea. In addition to running global operations in contract manufacturing, he as helped numerous startup companies achieve success, including but not limited to manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering services in various areas.

Won Choi

CFO, Co-founder
Won Choi has over 20 years of financial leadership experience in the high – tech industry working with companies at early growth stage. Prior to joining Lento, Won was VP of Finance at Bigbaboon, Inc. and held executive financial leadership and business development roles where he partnered with business teams to develop and implement strategic plans and financial process. Won holds business administration degree with accounting concentration.

Benjamin Park, PhD

CTO, Co-founder
With 20 years of medical device development experience, Ben has significantly contributed to development of orthopedic device to help improve quality of patient care. His career includes engineering leadership in robotic assisted total Knee replacement surgical system development and spinal surgical system and implant design. Ben pioneered patient specific surgical guides in joint surgery. Prior to joining Lento, Ben was CTO for Otismed, later acquired by Stryker. Ben holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley and has submitted 50+ patents throughout his career.

David Schlerf

VP of CQR, Co-founder
David Schlerf provides more than thirty-five years of Clinical, Quality and Regulatory expertise nationally and internationally. Extensive experience in Orthopedic device sector to address FDA/MDD/MDR responsibilities at all levels, as well as 7 years as a Registered Nurse in Trauma and 10 years as a Certified Physician Assistant in Family Practice. Successful regulatory submissions include IDE/PMA, 510(k), EU Technical Files (CE Mark), device registrations and marketing clearances within the EU and East Asia market sectors.

John Schipper

Technical Advisor
John has more than 16 years of research experience in physicist and engineering, working in chemical kinetics, polymers, material science, computer algorithms, applied math control systems, compute science, electromagnetic effects, nuclear effects, physical optics, lasers, solid and fluid mechanics, and re-entry physics. Furthermore, John has over 30 years of experience in patent and taxation law. Currently, he works at N.A.S.A as a head researcher. John holds a PhD degree in Physics from UC Berkeley, plus J.D and MBA, plus a master’s in mathematics.

Carl Stamp

Executive Advisor
Carl is a 34 year veteran of the medical device industry, with over 25 years dedicated to the orthopedic sector. Over his career he has led global functions in Marketing, Strategy, Operations, Sales, Business Development, and R&D. Most recently he served as Sr. Vice President, Global Marketing and Strategy for Smiths Medical. Prior to Smiths he spent 12 years with Medtronic in numerous executive roles including VP/GM of their Cervical Spine business and VP of Global Operations for the $3B Spine and Biologics Division. He joined Medtronic in 2002, following the successful IPO of Wright Medical Technology, where he spent 16 years in numerous roles including VP of Global Marketing and VP of Business Development. He is a board member for several companies, an advisor to the University of Minnesota as well as several early stage companies, and an active angel investor.

Dr. Benjamin Song

Clinical Advisor
Dr. Benjamin Song has more than 50 years of experience as orthopedic surgeon in the US. Dr. Song has expertise in join replacement surgery, bone fracture, osteoarthritis, arthroscopy, and carpal tunnel syndrome. He was awarded in recognition of outstanding service with generosity plus scientific paper with excellence. Dr. Song has several journal publications and holds two hip implant design patents. He is a Diplomat for both the American and Korean Board of Orthopedic Surgery.

Dr. Pier Francesco Indelli

Overseas Studies – Faculty, Orthopaedic Surgery Staff, Orthopaedic Surgery
Dr. Indelli is an Assistant Professor in Adult Reconstruction at the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Bioengineering at the Stanford University School of Medicine and an academic orthopedic surgeon at the Palo Alto Veterans Affairs Healthcare Systems (PAVAHCS). With over 12 years of experience, Dr. Indelli has helped many patients in primary and revision Knee and Hip Arthroplasty as well as Medial Pivot Total Knee Arthroplasty Designs. He has completed a Clinical Fellowship in Sports Medicine at the University of Arizona and a Clinical Fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at Duke University. In addition, Dr. Indelli completed a 2-year Research Fellowship at the Department of Functional Restoration at Stanford University. Dr. Indelli also has a PhD in Adult Reconstruction from the University of Florence School of Medicine (Florence, Italy). Dr. Indelli belongs to many National and International Orthopedic Societies, including AAOS, AAHKS, ESSKA, EKA, Piedmont Orthopedic Society and SIGASCOT and has helped several innovative research in orthopedic science improvement.

Lorenzo Deveza, MD, PhD

Clinical Advisor
Dr. Deveza is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in spine surgery and orthopedic oncology at the Joseph Barnhart Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Baylor Medicine. He is a clinician-scientist and engineer with research interests in stem cell biology, bone healing and tissue engineering, medical device design, biomechanics, and applications in AI and machine learning. Dr. Deveza received his undergraduate degree in Philosophy from San Jose State University and then subsequently obtained a Masters degree from the University of California Davis in Biomedical Engineering. Prior to medical school, he was a R&D biomechanical engineer for an orthopaedic medical device start-up, which he had continued to participate in throughout his training. He attended medical school at Stanford University, where he jointly worked towards his Ph.D. in Bioengineering as part of the Stanford MSTP program. Dr. Deveza completed his orthopedic residency at Baylor College of Medicine. He did a spine surgery fellowship at New York University Langone Medical Center focusing on complex spinal deformity surgery and minimally invasive spine surgery. He completed a second fellowship in musculoskeletal oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center with a focus on spine, pelvis and extremity tumor resections and reconstructions.

Dr. Bruno Violante

Clinical Advisor
Dr. Bruno Violante is a surgeon in orthopedic procedures with a particular attention to the advanced techniques of knee and hip surgery, in both sports and prosthetics. During his activity he has dedicated a significant in-depth study on the management and treatment of prosthetic infections. Since 2017, Dr. Bruno Violante has been the Head of the Orthopedic Unit of Prosthetic Surgery of the Knee, Hip, and Sports Surgery at the Sant’Ambrogio Clinical Institute in Milan. In fact, there are numerous surgical operations in which he has taken part as The First Operator. Among the various affiliations to scientific associations, he is a Board Member of the European Knee Association (EKA) and member of the Insall Club, as well as being an International Reviewer of scientific papers for specialist journals such as KSSTA, American Journal of Arthroplasty, AOTS and Associate Editor of the journal Joints.
